Recently, I saw thees words many times in the replies of the guitar forum.

Here is an example:
A: Elixir is the best string.
B: Yes, Elixir last a long time. But, it is not my cup of tea. Martin SP is my favorite.

Here, It isn't my cup of tea = I don't like it. It sounds more gentle with these words.

Yeah its an old expression but Im not sure of its origins But your right, its is used alot and instead of "I dont like it".
